Dr. Tucker is an infectious disease physician with a special interest in using public challenge contests to improve health. He is an associate professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and also at the University North Caroline at Chapel Hill. His team’s ongoing research investigates challenge contests to promote HIV testing, hepatitis testing, health cities, and gender equity. He is the chairman of the Steering Committee of Social Entrepreneurship to Sour Health, a group focused on using public challenge contests to improve health. In this role, he helped to organize the Women Leaders in Global Health Challenge Contest. He was a volunteer firefighter for four years in college.
