The online open challenge contest is open and offered only to
individuals who are between 14 and 24 years residing in Nigeria. The Contest is void where prohibited or
restricted by law. 4YBY reserves the right to limit, or restrict upon notice, participation in the
Contest to any person who fails to comply with these terms and conditions.
How to Enter:
To enter the Contest, visit http://4YBY.org (“Site”) during the
Challenge Contest Period, accurately and truthfully complete the online registration form, accept these
Terms and Conditions and follow the instructions for submitting an Participant as described on the Site
and below. An “Entry” must be an original idea based a solution for the “Challenges” described further
on the Site. The party accepting these Terms and Conditions and submitting an Entry is referred to as an
“Participant” or “you.” Individual Participants may also enter in the form of Teams, as described below.
As used herein, “Entry” means all submissions, original ideas, documents or other materials submitted to
Organizers-4YBY in connection with the Challenge Contest. Each Entry must be the original creation of
the Participant(s). Organizers and Partners are in no way obligated to use or continue to use any Entry.
All entries must be received during the ‘4YBY challenge contest’ entry period to be eligible for

Termination of the participation shall not affect any rights or obligations incurred prior to the date

During the judging procedure the submissions will be reviewed
and evaluated by a team of judges assembled by the organizers and partners. The judges will review and
judge eligible submissions based on the judging criteria described o the site. The judging criteria for
the 3 different rounds of the challenge contests are described on the website.
The prizes for each round are described on the site. Winners
will be notified by E-mail and phone calls. 4YBY will pay out monetary prizes via bank transfer once the
winner provides his/her/their bank account information.
“Intellectual Property Rights” means any and all tangible and
intangible: (i) copyrights and other rights associated with works of authorship throughout the world,
including but not limited to copyrights, neighboring rights, moral rights, and mask works, and all
derivative works thereof; (ii) trademark and trade name rights and similar rights; (iii) trade secret
rights; (iv) patents, designs, algorithms, utility models, and other industrial property rights, and all
improvements thereto; (v) all other intellectual and industrial property rights (of every kind and
nature throughout the world and however designated) whether arising by operation of law, contract,
license, or otherwise; and (vi) all registrations, applications, renewals, extensions, continuations,
divisions, or reissues thereof now or hereafter in force (including any rights in any of the foregoing)
; and (vii) any licenses, permissions and consents associated with (i) through (vi) above.
All Entries submitted to the contest will remain the exclusive
property of the contest participants(s). Contest Organizers and partners will have the right to use all
of the Ideas submitted as part of the Contest, and all images, videos, words depicted therein, in any
promotion or for any non-commercial purpose. By submitting an Entry, participant(s) grants Organizers
and partners the non-exclusive, unlimited, royalty-free, rights to publish in all media now known or
hereafter discovered, and publicly display all Ideas for an unlimited period, and worldwide. The
Organizers and Partners has the right to apply minor changes, amendments without damaging the integrity
of the Entry. In case the Organizer and/or the Partner want to bring major changes to the submitted Work
for publication, public relations, or exhibition purposes, the Organizer and/or the Partner will contact
the participant(s) and inform him/her/them about the use to obtain the participant's consent.
Each participant, by participating in the Contest, except where legally prohibited, grants permission
for the Contest Entities and their partners to use his/her name and prize information for advertising,
public relations and promotional purposes without further compensation, in all media now known or
hereafter discovered, worldwide in perpetuity, for an unlimited period, without notice or review or

and manner of non-commercial use of Entries and are not obligated to use any Entry. Each Participant
acknowledges that other Participants may have created ideas and concepts contained in their Submission
that may have familiarities or similarities to his/her own Submission, and that he/she will not be
entitled to any compensation or right to negotiate with the Contest Entities because of these
familiarities or similarities.
The 5 Finalists from the Designathon Phase, agree that they are participating in the Entrepreneurial
Start-up Training Program where they will receive training and advice from mentors to advance and finish
up their entries from the designathon. Also, that 4YBY will disclose the name of mentors who worked with
them and information about the development process
in the form of text, images, pictures etc. when making public announcements about the training and
If the submission has received, sponsored or obtained in whole or part, technical or material funding by
a third party, the name of the individual, organization or company and condition between them must be
informed to 4YBY of the nature and extent of sponsorship.
Contest Terms of Submission:
Proof of an uploaded Submission does not constitute proof or
evidence that Organizers received the Entry within the Contest Period or that it is otherwise eligible
for the Contest. Organizers reserves the right to disqualify and/or remove any Submission or Participant
for any reason or no reason within its sole and absolute discretion. Nothing in these Terms and
Conditions shall require 4YBY to monitor or edit the Site or any Submissions for offensive or otherwise
objectionable content. Notwithstanding the foregoing, 4YBY may reject or remove from the Site or Contest
any Submission which might be considered, offensive, defamatory, obscene, illegal, harmful, in violation
of Organizers’ website use or privacy policies, or that otherwise falls short of Organizers’ standards.
All Participants shall use the Site according to these Terms and Conditions and any applicable website
use policy posted on the Site.
Representations, Warranties and Indemnities:
Each of the entries represents and warrants that he or she has
read, understands and will follow the contests official rules. Applicants further represent and warrant
that their submission and all materials and matter therein: (1) are single handedly original with such
applicant and not a copy or imitation of any other material; (2) will not infringe or violate any right
whatsoever, including, without limitation, any personal rights (e.g., defamation, privacy, false light,
moral right, etc.) or any property rights (e.g., copyright, trademark, right to ideas, etc.) of any
person or entity and the use thereof will result in no third party liability or obligations; and (3) is
not the subject of any threatened or pending litigation, claim or dispute that might give rise to
litigation, which adversely affects or in any way prejudices, impairs or diminishes the rights granted
hereunder or the value thereof. Each submission further represents and warrants that he or she has the
right to agree to and fully perform consistent with these Official Rules and the consent of no third
parties are required to grant the rights hereunder. Participants further acknowledges and agrees that
he/she has not previously granted, assigned or otherwise hypothecated his/her Submission to any other
third party. Further, each Entrant represents and warrants that Sponsor’s use of any Submission shall
not violate an agreement to which such Entrant has signed. Entrants agree to indemnify and hold the
Released Parties (defined below) harmless from and against any third party claim, to the extent relating
to any breach of any representation, warranty or covenant made by such Entrant in connection with his or
her acceptance of these Official Rules or Contest activities.
Participants grants permission to Organizers and its authorized
representative to use his/her name, photograph, video, voice and/other likeness for advertising and
promotional purposes without further compensation, in all media now known or hereafter discovered,
worldwide, and on the internet and world wide web, in perpetuity, without notice, consideration, review
and approval. Participants shall at all times comply with any Authorized Usage Policy and for the

Conditions, (ii) tampers with the Submission process, the Contest, or the Site; or (iii) is acting in an
uncooperative, unsportsmanlike, disruptive, abusive, or threatening manner. Neither Organizers, nor its
employees, officers, directors, agents, contractors, representatives, affiliates, advertising/promotion
agencies (“Released Parties”) shall assume any responsibility whatsoever for delayed, failed, partial or
garbled computer transmissions; technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to lost,
interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website or other
connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone
or cable transmissions, lines or technical failures or difficulties; the incorrect or inaccurate capture
or failure to capture information whether caused by Site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment
or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest, Entry, or other information; the failure to
capture any such information; or errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, network or
otherwise arising out of or relating to the Contest, theft, loss, destruction or damage to Entries, in
whole or in part, or other factors beyond their reasonable control. Once submitted, an Entry cannot be
deleted or cancelled. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to Participants’ or to
any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in the Contest or downloading
materials from or use of the Site.
ANY ATTEMPT TO DAMAGE THE CONTEST WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE
LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT
BE MADE, SPONSOR AND/OR ORGANIZER WILL DISQUALIFY ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL AND RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK
DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) AND OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT
PERMITTED BY LAW.
Limitation of Liability and Release:
By participating in the Contest, Participants agree to that
organizers, partners, subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, distributors, licensors, licensees,
representatives, attorneys, and advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their respective
directors, officers, employees, agents, successors and assigns ('Released Parties') will have no
liability whatsoever for, and will be released and held harmless by participant for any and all claims
(including, without limitation, losses, damages or injuries to Entrant's or any other person’s equipment
or other property, or to their persons, related to participation in the Contest; or arising out of any
violation of rights of publicity or privacy, or claims of defamation or portrayal in a false light; or
based on any claim of infringement of intellectual property; or from any typographical, human or other
error in the printing, offering, selection, operation or announcement of any Contest activity and/or
prize). Organizers and Partners maintain no control over the personnel, equipment or operation of any
air, water or surface carrier, ship line, bus or limousine company, transportation company, hotel as a
part of the prizes provided in connection with the Contest; and will not be responsible or liable for
any injury, expense, accident, delay, inconvenience or other irregularity that may be caused. Each
Participant further agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Released Parties from and against any and all
liability resulting or arising from the Contest and to release all rights to bring any claim, action or
proceeding against Released Parties. The Released Parties are not responsible for the actions of
Participants in connection with the Contest, including Participants’ attempts to circumvent the Official
Rules or otherwise interfere with the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of

construed in accordance with the internal laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its
conflicts of law provisions.

Data: e-mail address and contact data, transactional data based on your activities on our website (such
as requests and content you generate or that relates to your account). As a condition of entering a
Contest, each Participant gives consent for Organizer(s) to obtain and deliver his or her name, address
and other information to third parties including Contest Entities for the purpose of administering the
Contest and to comply with applicable laws, regulations and rules. Any information Participants provide
to Organizer(s) may be used to communicate with Participant in relation to a Contest or on a Contest
Validity of Official Rules
In the event that individual Terms become entirety or partially
invalid or impracticable, the validity of the remaining Terms shall remain and will not be affected.
Instead of the invalid or impracticable Terms the Parties will agree upon such reasonable Terms that
correspond as closely and legally possible to what the Parties – if they had considered the matter
initially in light of such invalidity or impracticability – would have agreed upon according to the
sense and purpose of these Terms. The same shall apply to omissions.
